MTN FA Cup: Determined Hearts pinch noisy Medeama to qualify for final

Ghana Premier League Champion Accra Hearts of Oak has taken a giant step towards winning double after beating Medeama SC by three goals to nil at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday evening.

The highly spirited Hearts of Oak side started the match with high spirit, their efforts paid off in the 12th minutes in the game after a well-worked ball from the wings headed in the net by inform Benjamin Efutu.

The Phobians continued dominance in the second half that led to Goalkeeper Frank Boateng howler, which Isaac Mensah capitalized on to make it two for the Phobians in the 59 minutes.

In the 72nd minutes of the game, Afriyie Barnie after dribbling the ball pass the goal, he was brought down in the box and the referee whistled for penalty. Barnie’s first attempt was saved, but the referee whistle for retake, which was sumptuously taken to made it three goals.

In the other match between AshGold and Berekum Chelsea, travelled to extra time after it ended 1-1 in regulation time.

AshGold miraculous scored three goals in the extra time to make it 4-1 to book their place in a first ever FA Cup final in 10 years.

The MTN FA Cup final is set to be played between Hearts of Oak and AshGold.
