MTN FA Cup: Kotoko crashed out
Kumasi Asante Kotoko hope of securing silverware this season has been dashed out after they were defeated by Berekum Chelsea 5-4 in a penalties shootout in the semifinals of the FA cup at Obuasi.
The porcupine warriors shot themselves in the foot after Fabio Gama missed a penalty in the first half. They both failed to find the back of the net after 90 and extras 30minutes, and the game traveled to penalties.
In the penalties shoot-out, Kotoko’s Wahab Adams misses and that will send them home without a trophy this season. Berekum Chelsea will be locking horns with another Ashanti team, obuasi Ashgold in the semifinals of the FA cup.
In the other quarter-final match, Medeama SC brushed aside lower division side Attram de Visser to set up a titanic clash in the semifinals between Accra Hearts Oak.
