Major boost for Northern Regional Office Project
New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman hopeful, Awentami Paul Afoko, has donated 400 bags of cement and GHC30,000 towards the construction of an ultramodern NPP Northern Regional office in Tamale. The donation follows a direct appeal by Northern Regional executives during a consultative meeting, where party leaders stressed the urgent need for a permanent and well-equipped regional office to strengthen party operations ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Regional executives appeal for support
During the meeting, regional executives explained that a modern office complex would play a crucial role in rebuilding the party’s structures and improving coordination across the Northern Region.
According to party officials, the planned multipurpose facility is expected to serve as a strategic hub for meetings, mobilization, administrative work, and campaign activities as the NPP prepares for the next electoral cycle. The executives emphasized that investing in the project is essential to positioning the party strongly in the region and enhancing its chances of reclaiming political dominance in 2028.

Afoko Camp calls for unity ahead of 2028
Presenting the donation on behalf of Afoko, Dr. Akisibadek Alekz Afoko urged party supporters to unite behind Afoko’s bid for the position of National Chairman. He described Afoko’s leadership as critical to rebuilding the party and helping the NPP “reclaim power from the NDC in 2028.”
Afoko, who previously served as NPP National Chairman from 2014 to 2015, is currently campaigning on a “3R” agenda — Reunite, Rebuild, and Recapture — which he says will restore unity and strengthen the party nationwide.
Party Officials Welcome “Timely Support”
Receiving the donation on behalf of Northern Regional Chairman Mohammed Adam Baantima Samba, the party’s 2nd Vice Chairman, Alhaji Abdul Rahman Sualihu Mahama, described the gesture as timely and significant.
He noted that the cash and cement donation would help accelerate work on the office project and move it closer to completion. Alhaji Mahama further encouraged Afoko to continue supporting the party’s efforts to reorganize and position itself strongly for the 2028 elections.

NPP eyes stronger Northern presence
The Northern Region remains a key battleground in Ghanaian politics, and party leaders believe the new regional office will strengthen grassroots mobilization and improve internal coordination. With preparations for the 2028 elections gradually taking shape, the project is expected to become a major symbol of the NPP’s rebuilding efforts in the region.
