E&P delivers first tranche of World Cup support
Engineers & Planners Limited, headline sponsor of Ghana’s senior national team, has released the first $2 million of its $5 million pledge to support the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The funds are earmarked to aid preparations as Ghana eyes a strong showing at the global tournament set to be hosted in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Government confirms payment
At a brief presentation ceremony held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, Deputy Finance Minister Thomas Nyarko Ampem confirmed that the amount has been successfully transferred into a dedicated national team fund. He described the disbursement as both symbolic and impactful, stressing its importance in strengthening logistical and technical preparations for the tournament.

Ibrahim Mahama aeaffirms commitment
Speaking at the event, Ibrahim Mahama, Chief Executive Officer of Dzata Group Holdings, reiterated his commitment to supporting national development through sports. “This is just the beginning of that support to the country, and as time goes on, we will ensure that we redeem the remaining balance that we have promised,” he stated.

Boosting private sector involvement in sports
The contribution forms part of a broader push to mobilise private sector backing for national initiatives, particularly in sports development. With $3 million still outstanding, the pledge by E&P is expected to play a crucial role in ensuring the Black Stars are well-prepared—financially and structurally—for the challenges of the 2026 World Cup.
