Veteran Labour Leader Dies at 59
The Executive Secretary of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG), Dr Isaac Bampoe Addo, popularly known as “Marico,” has died at the age of 59. Dr. Bampoe Addo died on Friday, August 21, 2026, according to a memorial tribute issued by his colleagues and members of Table 1. His death is expected to be deeply felt within CLOGSAG and Ghana’s public service, where he was widely recognised for his leadership, dedication and commitment to the welfare of staff.
Remembered for Leadership and Integrity

In the tribute, colleagues described Dr Bampoe Addo as a dedicated leader, mentor, colleague and friend who distinguished himself through strength, integrity and an unwavering commitment to his work. As Executive Secretary of CLOGSAG, he provided leadership with diligence and compassion, while encouraging those around him to pursue excellence and remain committed to their responsibilities. His colleagues said his approach to leadership went beyond his official duties, noting that he consistently inspired and mentored others through his actions and dedication.

Dr Bampoe Addo’s colleagues said his contribution to the association and his ability to inspire those around him had left a lasting impression on everyone who worked with him. “His commitment to excellence, unwavering loyalty, and ability to inspire those around him have left an indelible mark on us all,” the tribute stated.
