President of Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) Dr. Joseph Obeng reached out to the Ghana Revenue Authority to stop intimidating member because of their inability to service debts.
Speaking in an interview monitored by African Editors on Friday 22 July 2021, Dr. Obeng stressed on the devastating impact of Covid-19 on businesses and the need for Ghana Revenue Authority to deal with the harrowing impact of Covid-19 on businesses with amicable cooperation rather than intimidation.
“Under this circumstance, we did our best to sell to the people of Ghana and sustain ourselves considering the cooperation that exists between us and GRA, we would like to appeal to the good officers to reach out to us in terms of educating rather than intimidation and the unorthodox method use of harassing by recalcitrant officers”, noted.
Meanwhile, the economy has incurred losses due to the devastating impact of Covid-19. In view of this, Ghana Revenue Authority is putting measures in place to suffice for these economic losses.
