Ghana Club 100 Awards: Newmont adjudged Best Company in Ghana

Newmont Ghana Gold Ltd (Ahafo South Mine) has been awarded the prestigious title of the best company in Ghana. In the 20th edition of the Ghana Club 100 awards scheme, Newmont Ghana surpassed 99 other companies to claim the number one spot. This achievement comes after Newmont Ghana placed second in last year’s awards, with the financial technology company, Zeepay, taking the top position. However, this year, Zeepay lost its number one ranking.

Taking the second and third positions are Scancom Plc Ghana (MTN Ghana) and Amanex Company Limited, respectively. The theme for this edition of the Ghana Club 100 Awards was “Accelerating Economic Growth: Amplifying Ghana’s Global Market Footprint through AFCFTA.” The aim was to provide a comprehensive assessment of Ghanaian companies and instill the confidence and skills necessary for businesses to compete globally.

During the event, the CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Yofi Grant, highlighted the opportunities presented by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) pact. He emphasized the need for Ghanaian businesses to expand their reach and for the GIPC to support government efforts in enhancing the competitiveness of Ghana’s private sector in Africa.

This year’s awards celebrated the resilience, innovation, and excellence demonstrated by Ghanaian businesses over the years. Honours were given to the top 100 enterprises in sectors such as agriculture, agribusiness, financial services, ICT, infrastructure, petroleum, mining services, manufacturing, tourism, health, and education.

The event comprised three engaging sessions, starting with the Executive Networking Cocktail Session, where club members and high-level business executives had the opportunity to connect and strengthen business relationships. This was followed by the main event, where the awarded businesses were recognized for their outstanding performance. The night concluded with post-event celebrations featuring memorable performances by the renowned High-Life artist, Kofi Kinaata.

The top ten winners of the 20th edition of the Ghana Club 100 Awards are as follows:
10 – FBNBank Ghana
