Ghana Gas CEO interacts with industrial off-takers in Western Region to strengthen manufacturing partnerships
CEO Embarks on Industrial Tour
The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana National Gas Company Limited, Ms. Judith Adjobah Blay, has embarked on an industrial tour of manufacturing companies in the Western Region that rely solely on processed lean gas from Ghana Gas for their production activities.
The tour forms part of the company’s commitment to strengthening relationships with industrial off-takers and gaining first-hand insight into how processed gas supports manufacturing and industrial growth in the country.
Strengthening stakeholder engagement
Ghana Gas processes and supplies lean gas in a safe and reliable manner for power generation and industrial use across the country. Since assuming office a year ago, Ms. Blay has prioritised stakeholder engagement, holding extensive discussions with key industry players, including off-takers involved in power production within the Sekondi-Takoradi and Tema enclaves.
A few months earlier, the CEO undertook a familiarisation tour of factories in the Tema enclave, where she interacted with several industrial off-takers, including Sentuo Oil Refinery.
Western Region tour begins
On Tuesday, 21st April, Ms. Blay continued her industrial outreach with a similar tour in the Western enclave. The visit aimed to provide the CEO and her management team with a deeper understanding of the operational processes of factories that depend heavily on gas supplied by Ghana Gas.
Beyond inspecting production lines, the CEO also toured company showrooms to observe the finished products manufactured with the support of the gas supply. The engagements between Ghana Gas management and the various manufacturing companies were described as productive and insightful, with discussions centred on sustaining industrial growth through reliable gas supply.
Visit to Jintao Sanitary Ware Company Limited
The first stop on the tour was Jintao Sanitary Ware Company Limited, a company known for the production of ceramic wash-hand basins, toilet seats, and other sanitary ware products.
Management of the company highlighted the critical role gas supply plays in sustaining efficient production and maintaining operational stability.
Wankang Calls for Review of Gas Prices
At the ceramic tile manufacturing group, Wankang, company officials reiterated the importance of uninterrupted gas supply to their production processes.
Management appealed to Ghana Gas and the government to consider reviewing the cost of gas supplied to industries, stressing that affordable energy remains essential for competitive manufacturing and business sustainability.
Twyford Group requests additional gas supply
The tour also took the Ghana Gas delegation to Twyford Group, regarded as the largest ceramics manufacturing company in Ghana. Managing Director Mr. Li Wei expressed appreciation to Ghana Gas for its continuous support to the company over the years. He further used the opportunity to request additional gas supply for the company’s new glass manufacturing production line, which is currently under construction.
According to Mr. Li Wei, the new production line is expected to commence full operations in August next year, and increased gas allocation will be crucial to supporting the expansion project.
Commitment to Industrial Growth
The industrial tour underscores Ghana Gas’ commitment to supporting local manufacturing through reliable energy supply and strategic stakeholder engagement. The interactions also provided an avenue for industrial players to share concerns and discuss opportunities for collaboration aimed at boosting industrialisation and economic growth in Ghana.
