GPL wk16: Elmina Sharks swallows porcupine despite late penalty
Elmina Sharks came from a goal down in Premier League to defeat Kumasi Asante Kotoko by 2-1 at Ndum Sports Complex on Monday with Kotoko missing 94th minute penalty.
The league leaders Kotoko took the lead in the 39minutes through Dickson Afoakwa tape in.
But Adu Kwa Boadi headed home the leveller in the 43rd minute inside the side half from a beautifully taken free-kick.
The Sharks came from the recess with much energy and intensity and was rewarded with a penalty in the 56th minute, which was coolly slotted in by Ahaji Mustapha to give Sharks the lead.
Kotoko pilled lots of pressure in the die embers of the game, and got a 94th-minute penalty but Etouga’s shoot was saved.
It all ended 2-1 in favour of Elmina Sharks.
