GPRTU, GRTCC warns drivers to comply with new transport fare directives
Ghana Road Transport Union (GPRTU) together with Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council (GRTCC) have issued a stern warning to drivers, station masters, terminal managers and operators to ensure that the 15.3 percent reduction in transport fares are duly implemented and adhere to accordingly.
In a joint statement signed by the two General Secretaries of the transport operators, Godfred Abulbire and Emmanuel Ohene Yeboah said transport operators should ensure the directives given to reduce fares by 15.3 percent must reflect in their present charges in order to avoid any confrontation with passengers or commuters at the stations.

The statement further warned that any driver found culpable of charging more than the approved fare would be sanctioned accordingly.
It also stated that a joint taskforce operators are placed on the alert to ensure drivers and transport operators comply with the new directives and charge the correct fares.
“We also urge all regional administrations, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies to ensure compliance to the new fares”, the statement added.
