I’ll serve in humility, integrity & build most respected GPS- IGP Dampare

Inspector General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare says the agenda of the police is to become the most respected institution in Ghana, serving as a shinning example and reference point to the West African sub-region.

According to Dr. Dampare, he intends to serve in humility and integrity to deepen strong ties with Ghanaians.

Speaking upon his confirmation ceremony as substantive IGP of Ghana by President Akufo-Addo on Friday 8 October 2021 at Jubilee House in Accra, IGP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare said “I’ll serve in humility and integrity to strengthen the relationship between the police and civilian citizens. Our goal is to become the most respected institution in Ghana and Africa”.

He noted that “let’s work together to sustain peace. Mr. President, I thank you for confirming me as the IGP. My family is grateful to you for the honour done me. Our vision is to become a world class police service and I know it will come to pass.

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has charged the new IGP to be fair and firm in the discharge of his constitutionally mandated duties and must not become appendage of the governing party.

“God will do Its best to assist the Ghana Police Service”, President Akufo-Addo said.
