Ken Agyapong-Bawumia dinning despite claims of poisoning in NPP

Despite allegations of poisoning within the governing New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the party’s 2024 flagbearer and Vice President of Ghana, remains unruffled.

The recent passing of John Kumah, Ghana’s Deputy Minister of Finance and MP for Ejisu, sparked speculation that both he and Bernard Antwi Boasiako also known as Chairman Wontumi were poisoned after an event in Tamale. In addition, there are fears that other NPP officials could be targeted due to their political ambitions.

A video of NPP officials, including Henry Nana Boakye and Justin Kodua, declining water at a funeral event went viral, drawing social media ridicule.

In a counter-culture move, Dr. Bawumia was seen in a video dining with his main political rival in the NPP presidential primaries, Kennedy Agyapong. The video showed the two sharing a light-hearted moment at a funeral event, with Ken teasing Bawumia as they laughed together.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Vice President of Ghana, remains unfazed by allegations of poisoning within his party.

Following the recent death of John Kumah, a Deputy Minister of Finance and Member of Parliament for the Ejisu constituency, speculations have arisen suggesting that both Kumah and Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly called Chairman Wontumi the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, were poisoned after a party event in Tamale.

There are also theories circulating that various NPP officials could be targets for assassination due to their political aspirations.

In a widely circulated video on social media, Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B), the National Organiser of the NPP, and Justin Kodua, the General Secretary, were seen alongside other party members declining water offered to them at a funeral event, leading to social media mockery.

However, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is setting an example by sharing a meal with his main opponent in the NPP presidential primaries, Kennedy Agyapong. In a video, 2024, Bawumia and Ken Agyapong are seen enjoying each other’s company at a funeral event, with Ken playfully teasing Bawumia as they share a laugh.
