Privileges Committee of Parliament will on Thursday August 5, 2021 begin sitting to probe a contempt of parliament matter against Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, brought before it by Alhassan Suhuyini.

The Defense and Interior Committee of Parliament Chair Mr. Agyapong threatened to beat Joy FM’s Erastus Asare Donkor over his recent testimonies at Justice George Kingsley Koomsom-led committee tasked to probe unfortunate Ejura military shootings.

This compelled Suhuyini to haul him before the Privileges Committee.

After a zoom meeting held on Tuesday 27 July 2021, the committee has fixed Thursday August 5 to kick-off the public hearing on the cases at 5 pm.

According to Chairman of the Privileges Committee and First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Joseph Osei Owusu, the Complainant in the matter Alhassan Suhuyini will be the first to appear before the committee on August 5″.

“We’ll only deal with the matter before the committee”,he said.
