Lawyer Afrifa sues GLC over procedural impropriety & breach of natural justice

Private Legal Practitioner who alleged that the Chief Justice Kwasi Anin Yeboah was involved in $5 million bribery scandal Kwasi Afrifa has sued the General Legal Council (GLC) over alleged breach of natural justice and procedural impropriety.

Lawyer Afrifa alleged that the Chief Justice Kwasi Anin Yeboah promised influence favourable outcomes of the case of his former Nana Agyeedom Obranu Atta at the Supreme Court if he pays $5 million after the same client dragged h before GLC.

The Chief Justice has since petitioned Criminal Investigation Department of the police to probe the matter with Lawyer Afrifa willingly showing up at the police headquarters over allegations that he was running from questioning.

The GLC has since slapped Lawyer Afrifa with nine charges.

But, even before the trial begins, Lawyer Afrifa has also sued the General Legal Council.

He wants the court to stop the GLC from proceeding with an action against him on grounds of procedural errors and the total disregard for the principle of natural justice.
