Lion kills man in Accra-Ghana Zoo

Ghana’s Forestry Commission (FC) has confirmed that an intruder, a man was on Sunday killed at a Zoo in Accra, the capital of Accra.

According to Ghana’s Forestry Commission, the middle aged man is said to have illegally entered the Achimota Zoo, attempted to steal the lion cubs when it attacked him in the process and killed him.

The Forestry Commission of Ghana in-charge of management of the Achimota Forest where the zoo is located has confirmed the death of the man.

In a statement issued by its Corporate Affairs Unit of the Forestry Commission said the sad incident took place in on Sunday August 28, 2022.

“Intruder was attacked and injured by one of the lions and he latter died from the injuries”, the statement said.

According to CEO of the Forestry Commission John Allotey, no lion has escaped from the Achimota Zoo.
