Mahama honoured for exemplary leadership in Lagos
During the 2024 African Heritage Awards Ceremony in Lagos, Nigeria, Former President John Dramani Mahama was presented with the African Advancement Award for Exemplary Leadership. Organized by the Heritage Times of Nigeria, this event honors influential African innovators, entrepreneurs, and organizations dedicated to advancing the continent.
Chaired by former Botswana President Dr. Seretse Khama Ian Khama, the second edition of the awards recognized Mahama for his strategic economic initiatives and infrastructure projects aimed at improving the lives of Ghanaians. His commitment to peace and democracy, demonstrated through a peaceful transfer of power, was also celebrated.
In his gratitude, Mahama expressed his thanks to his team and stated that the award inspires him to continue striving as a leader. He noted that the recognition will hold a special place in his office when he is re-elected as president.
Other recipients at the ceremony included the African Rising Movement for their social justice efforts and Dr. Jayne Obioma Onwumere, CEO of the Property World Africa Network, honored for her work in women’s emancipation and empowerment.
