NPP Delegates Conference: Ghana is better than U.S and UK- Wontumi to critics
Ashanti Regional Chairman of New Patriotic Party known in private life as Wontumi has taken a swipe at Ghanaians complaining over hardships by telling them Ghana is a conducive and better place to live now than United States ( US) and United Kingdom ( UK).
The NPP holds their annual delegate conference in their stronghold Kumasi Heroes’ Park of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to consider some 38 proposed amendments to the party’s constitution.
Chairman Wontumi mounted the podium to deliver his speech and started by heaping praises on President Akufo Addo and his government.
He also took his time to explain why he thinks Ghana is better country now ahead of the world superpowers like U.S. and the U.K.
” Development will not fall from Heaven to earth, now I can say Ghana is better than the United States, Ghana is better than UK because of the good policies the president and government is giving to Ghanaians, we all know about the Covid, before we travel to developed countries like US, UK and Germany for holidays. But now when you are traveling, it has become prisons. If you go to China, they will keep you in a hotel for one month, in UK 10days, same for US. Ladies and gentlemen, if some people are complaining Ghana economy or Ghana is hard, they have to understand that our traders cannot travel because when they travel they use all their money to pay hotel bills there is a Covid”
He also cautions the main opposition party National Democratic Congress( NDC) not to think of power anytime soon because they are continuing the movement of ruling Ghana for a longer period.
