I’ll form my own party -Obiri Boahen

Nana Obiri Boahen, the former Deputy General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has voiced his discontent with the party’s leadership in a leaked recording circulating on social media. Despite his significant contributions to promoting the party’s ideals, Mr Boahen feels unappreciated and unrecognized for his sacrifices.

In the recording, Mr Boahen expressed his frustration to a sympathizer, revealing his intention to form his own political party in response to feeling undervalued by the NPP. He conveyed a sense of betrayal and disappointment, indicating that he no longer sees himself as representing the party due to the perceived lack of recognition for his efforts.

Highlighting his grievances, Mr Boahen criticized the NPP leadership for what he perceived as a biased regional representation in the National Campaign team. He specifically mentioned not being included in the team despite his support for Vice President and NPP flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia during the Super Delegates’ conference.

The leaked tape captured Mr Boahen’s decision to distance himself from the NPP and potentially shift his political allegiance, reflecting his dissatisfaction with the treatment he has received from the party’s leadership.
