SA sent you on “fool’s errand”- GFA to FIFA

Ghana FA has officially responded to the world football governing body FIFA over allegations of match-fixing levelled against it by Bafana Bafana of South Africa, adding that FIFA has been petitioned to embark on a ‘fishing’ activity that has no hope of success.

Ghana Football Association (GFA) has called on FIFA to throw away South Africa’s match-fixing claim because the said allegations are baseless.

FIFA, has confirmed that it has received a complaint from SAFA over their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Ghana, which they lost 1-0.

“FIFA has received a complaint from the South African FA in relation to this matter and will review it. Please understand we cannot comment further at this stage,” FIFA said in response to the media.

In its response, the GFA said South Africa must rather be penalized for “bringing the brand of the World Cup and Ghana’s senior team into disrepute”.

GFA argued that South Africa sent “the respected FIFA Disciplinary Committee on a fool’s errand or fishing” by only making allegations without claims by their initial protest letter to FIFA, and requests that the latter be punished “severely”.
