EPA Ladies Association marks one-year milestone
The EPA Ladies Association (EPALA) has celebrated its first anniversary with a vibrant grooming session that brought together members from across the country. The event served as both a celebration of the association’s journey and a reaffirmation of its commitment to unity, growth, and meaningful impact within the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA).
Nationwide participation and inclusivity
Held on April 30, 2026, the anniversary event saw active participation from all regional offices of the EPA. In a deliberate effort to ensure inclusivity, some members joined virtually, allowing the celebration to transcend geographical boundaries and reflect the association’s nationwide reach.
Leadership emphasizes women’s empowerment
Delivering the keynote address, the Chief Executive Officer of the EPA, Prof. Nana Ama Browne Klutse, underscored the critical role of empowering women within the institution. She highlighted the importance of collaboration among female staff in advancing the EPA’s mission of environmental protection and sustainability. Her message reinforced the need for continuous support systems that enable women to thrive professionally while contributing meaningfully to national environmental goals.
Symbolic cake-cutting ceremony
A major highlight of the celebration was the ceremonial cake-cutting session, led by the CEO alongside EPALA executives and members. In a show of unity, regional teams participated simultaneously, symbolizing the association’s dedication to inclusiveness and shared purpose across all branches.
Focus on growth and development
The programme featured a series of activities designed to promote both personal and professional development. Members engaged in grooming sessions, discussions, and reflections that not only celebrated achievements over the past year but also set the tone for future progress. These sessions provided a platform for learning, self-improvement, and strengthening bonds among members.
A platform for mentorship and impact
Over the past year, EPALA has established itself as a strong support network for female staff within the EPA. The association continues to champion mentorship, capacity building, and professional development, while aligning its efforts with the broader environmental sustainability agenda of the Authority.
As it enters its second year, EPALA remains focused on deepening its impact, fostering collaboration, and empowering its members to play even greater roles in environmental stewardship.
