AFCON: Ghana faces Mozambique in a must-win encounter
Chris Hughton, the head Coach of Ghana Black Stars, has expressed confidence in his players’ awareness of what needs to be done to secure a win in their final group game at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Facing Mozambique on Monday evening, the team is eager to secure their first three points of the tournament after failing to win any of their first two matches.
After a loss to Cape Verde and a draw against Egypt, Ghana is currently on just one point heading into their last round of fixtures. Hughton emphasized the importance of being physically and mentally prepared for the game, acknowledging that there are no easy matches in the tournament.
A win in today’s game could put Ghana in a better position to qualify for the next stage of the competition, potentially moving them to second place in the group depending on the results of the Egypt vs. Cape Verde fixture.
